Welcome to Yazoo City!

Mayor 8X10C

A new era begins.  On April 14, 2014, Diane Delaware was sworn in as Yazoo City’s first female mayor.  A capacity crowd was present to see Diane Delaware’s debut in city government.  “This may be the last time I thank the citizens of Yazoo for voting for me because after today you are going to expect a lot more than that,” Delaware said.  “You gave us a mandate for change.  Working together, I think we are going to do some great things for Yazoo City.”  The new mayor said she wants to make city government more open to the citizens and hope to get input from those who live and work in Yazoo City.

The Board of Mayor and Aldermen meet on the second and fourth Monday of each month at 2:00 p.m.  All meetings are held at the Police Department located on Mike Espy Drive.  All meetings are open to the public and are also broadcast over the local Radio Station – Power 107.  We encourage citizen participation and all comments and suggestions are welcome.

If you have any comments or suggestions and would like to be placed on the agenda, please contact Mayor Diane Delaware at 662-746-3211 or via email: mailto:–ycmayor@yazoocityms.us
